M* 300/4

General Description
This was the very first of the PENTAX * lenses and the only M* lens. Its optical formula lived on in its successor, the smc PENTAX-A* 1:4 300mm. Both lenses by far surpassed the imaging quality of their K series predecessor albeit being much smaller. However, they inherited the same relatively limited minimal focisng distance (4 meters). Although this lens has a built-in hood, Pentax has designed a dedicated hood for it. Strange!
